Let's Decorate it!

28. Have your Jar Front layer active. Go selections - Select All, Float. Go to Selections - Save to Alpha Channel. We will be using this in a bit.
29. Have your Foreground set to white and background set to null. Grab your Selection tool set to ellipse.
30. Add a new layer for this ellispe. We need it span the width of the front of your jar, and hangs over the bottom slightly. It's ok if you go over the base of the jar, we want it to and we'll get rid of the excess shortly. Flood fill with white and Keep seletected.
31. Go to Selections - Modify and Contract by 30 pixels. Hit delete once - Deselect.
32. Go back to your selection tool...choose retangle and select the top part of the elipse. Hit delete once.


33. Go to Selections, Load from Alpha Channel,Selections Invert, Delete and Deselect. Move into place if needed. Name this layer Jar Deco.

Save!


34. Now go to Selectins - Select All - Float and fill with a pattern or solid color of your choice. You may use my gingham patterns if you'd like.
35. Go to Effects - Inner Bevel and apply the effect with these settings :


36. Now to add some text. Add a new layer - layers - arrange - bring to top. Click on your text tool. I've got my stroke set to null and my fill set to the same fill as I have on my Jar Deco layer. Floating and anitialias checked.
37. Add the same Inner Bevel as you did for the Jar Deco layer. Add a drop down shadow with the settings below. Deselect. Name this layer text 1.

Save!


38. Add a new layer, add the same text as you did before, only have your fill set to black. Deselet. Move this layer below your text 1 layer. Move this text an itty bit above your main text so it gives a little more depth.


39. Add you favorite cookie tube and you're done!!! This jar can be used for any occasion. Adorn with Halloween Candy, Easter Chocolate, Jellybeans or Sweet Hearts for the special someone. =o)

Save! As .psp or tube because you're done! Whoohoo! Thank you for giving my tutorial a try.....I hope you enjoy decorating your jars. Have fun with them!

This tutorial was created when I was looking for a cookie jar. The ones I found are terrific...but not what I wanted in shape or look. Thanks again to Meneka, for allowing me to use her pearl preset for KPT. It was the main ingredient in the tutorial that made all the difference. =o)
