Let's Begin!

Making the Jar:

1. Open a new image 400 x 400
2. Set your Foreground to black and your background to null
3. Go to your Preset Shapes and choose Cylinder with the below values.
4. Place a cylinder roughly in the center of your canvas like so....
5. Layers, convert to raster layer and name it Jar Shell.

PSP 5 and 6 users:
Open the FalCylinder1(psp5and6).psp file. You'll notice that it is already on a 400 x 400, 2 layered, transparent image. Duplicate this and close your original. All you'll need to do is:
Selections - Select All - Float and continue on with the rest of the tutorial.

6. Change your Foreground color to white
7. With your Magic Wand set to 0 Tolerance and Feather 0, select the 'jar' part of the jar shell.
8. Go selections, Modify, Expand by 1 pixel. Add a new layer called Jar Front
9. Flood fill with white.
10. Go to Effects, Plugins, KPT5, Shapeshifter and follow the steps as illustrated in the screen shot. Click the check mark.
11. Selections - none

Making the Lid:

12. Have your Jar Shell layer active. With your Magic Wand set to 0 Tolerance and Feather 0, select the 'jar lid area' part of the Jar Shell.
13. Go Selections, Modify, Expand by 1 pixel. Add a new layer called Jar Lid.
14. Flood fill with white.
15. Go to Effects, Plugins, KPT5, Shapeshifter and apply the same steps as illustrated in the screen shot above. Click the check mark.
16. Selections - none

This is what we have so far.

17. Have your Jar Lid layer active and move it to the top of your layer pallet.
18. Delete your Jar Shell Layer and position the Lid of the Jar as you'd like it with your mover tool. At this point, I've added a layer above Layer 1 and flood filled with black so I can see what I'm doing.
19. With your Lid Layer active add a drop down shadow with the below values.
