I've had access to the internet since late 1993. At first I was an occasional web surfer and later parked my butt on chat channels. I've had the privilage of seeing many beautiful websites. I knew one day, I'd be makeing my own page, too. It was a goal I set out to do. Had no idea how to get started or where to go to get web space for 'free'! Back in 1998, I found Bill (see above url). I made one request for a song and next thing I knew - I had made a new friend. When I had mentioned that I too would like try making a web page, he was my guiding angel. Bill's the one that referred me to Tripod.com for their easy to use Quick Pages. He was there when I had a question and soon I was flying with my own wings. Who's to say that I'd even have a web page today if it weren't for Bill Bayers (August 1959 - November 1-1999). I miss you friend. My page started out very basic. Some text. Some picutures. Soon it evolved into what you see today and it's been through Many changes. I no longer rely on free webhosts. In fact today, I host all my content from my personal web server. It's a labour of love. My html and graphics play ground. I've found many helpfull sites for html. I've subscribed to many tips and tricks newsletters for html and java scripts. I've accumilated loads of html code snippits in .txt on my hard drive for quick reference. Not to forget, many people who I've come to know over the years have helped me along as well. The objective with this page and the rest of the site is to extend to you the kindness I've recieved from so many! Maybe there will be something here that you'd like to try and play with on your website. If that's true, then you can thank Bill who has inspired me to do this. I'm not an expert by any means! I've still lots to learn myself. |
