Many of you knew Ireland (a.k.a patches/alleycat) from IRChatnet. We had recently learnt that she and her sister had been in a serious vehicle accident. This forum was set up to collect well wishes and post any information we recieved on their condition. After much heartache felt by family and friends, Ireland has gone on and is now another star in heaven.

Please Enter the Forum (thank you Peter) and share your thoughts and prayers with each other and for Ireland's dear family if you wish.

It was with intense heartfelt sadness that I created Ireland's page. She had mentioned on and off that she wanted her own website to doodle with. I just wish that at that time I had more experience to help her achieve it and under different circumstances. This is my gift to her and her family. Ireland was many things to each of us. A wife, a sister, a daughter a aunt. With my deepest sympathies, I am sorry for the loss of our dear friend. Please join me in remembering Ireland.

* patchafk pulls out her cattle prod... and uses it on you *bzzzzt* "Hey you!! Pay Attention!"

Ireland's kindness, generosity and willingness to give of herself touched many people. Her wicked sence of humor always had us chuckling. I am sure Ireland's family knew how much she enjoyed the many channels she frequented. The people that she had become close to like family and the new people she met. For me, the qualities that sort of defined Ireland were her willingness to help- her generosity and her sense of humor. She was always there willing to help people sort out frustrations. Even if that meant just listening. She was full of optimision that things were going to be ok.

when you think she wasn't looking...you'd suddenly see her... "I saw that!!"

I would liked nothing more than to see her typying away in the channel again. I know you all shared that hope with me. I hadn't heard from Ireland in a while and her birthday was fast approaching. So I wrote and asked her to please let me know how she was. She was doing a bit better with her fight with cancer. She was back and forth from home to her parents to care for her father. Not much time for the pc. She thought of us often and missed her friends. Please know that she cared a great deal for a lot of you.

she was always nibbling on something... jelly beans and icecream!

With tears in my eyes, we must say goodbye. How amazing it is that we can come to know someone so close over the net. Ireland was an ispiration to many people and a great friend. She taught us that whatever life has thrown in our path, we can fight it and never give up. We will all miss her as it feels we have lost a sister. Life is so short, we must all strive to make the most of it while we are here. Ireland did. There is now a new star in the heavens.

Ireland was a gift from God and she'll be watching us from above. May peace be found within her family during their time of need. Ireland's spirit will forever live in our hearts.

Rest in Peace sweety.
